WHAT IS CLUBMARK ACCREDITATION?
A 'Clubmark Accreditation' is an award given to a club which
has been recognised as a quality junior club by Sport England.
These clubs offer quality coaching in a structured and safe
environment.
WHAT IS SPORT ENGLAND?
Sport England is the national organisation charged with looking
after sport at a local club level. They are responsible for
ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to participate in
the sport they wish in both a safe and quality environment.
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO BE A CLUBMARK
ACCREDITED CLUB?
Clubmark guidelines focus on the following key areas:
Duty of Care and Child Protection
Coaching and Competition
Club Management/ Administration
Sports Equity and Ethics
Therefore, clubmark accredited clubs offer quality provision
such as:
a) A high standard of coaching, enabling you to develop into
a better player
b) A fun, safe environment in which to participate
c) Organised training sessions for you and your friends
d) Competitions and leagues to allow people of all ages and
all abilities to take part
e) Insurance
f) Membership of local and national sports organisations
WHAT IS CAPS?
CAPS helps Netball Clubs function in the most efficient way,
with least long term hassle. In today's society, CAPS offers
a way of maximising quality and child friendly activities.
In line with clubmark award, CAPS focuses on the same four
key areas (see above).
CAPS offers Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels of achievement,
highlighting further development work whilst ensuring that
all clubs have the chance to shine. Old Chelts currently has
the Silver Award, however with development in just two areas
we hope to achieve our Gold Award soon.
WHY IS CAPS IMPORTANT TO OUR NETBALL CLUB?
CAPS is important because it offers:
